STAFFELBACH – American Airlines Admiral’s Club (SFO) San Francisco – Unveiled

April 18, 2011

Staffelbach’s fabulous design work of the new American Airlines Admiral’s club in San Francisco was recently revealed and profiled by Chris McGinnis, travel writer for the San Francisco Chronicle.

In the article, McGinnis says:

“American Airlines seems be getting drowned out and left out of a lot of the media coverage regarding the opening of SFO’s new Terminal 2, which it shares with Virgin America. Of huge interest to frequent travelers is the opening of a fantastic new Admiral’s Club, with touches I’ve rarely or never seen before in an airport lounge….like a fireplace and pine trees! T2 is so high-end that the entire terminal feels like one giant airport club, so AA had to pull out all the stops to make this club even nicer than the rest of the terminal…and I think they succeeded.”

Be sure to read the full article to see the shots of the club, too.

It was a real pleasure to be the designer of this project and we are elated with the kind words shared.

We were very pleased to see Staffelbach ranked with the top ranking of five stars in the Almanac of Architecture and Design by Design Intelligence.

It’s an honor to be recognized doing something that we love to do.
